WHY WE NEED GOD

THE GOOD NEWS: You may have heard that God loves you.  He does. 

THE BAD NEWS: The problem is that SIN separates ALL OF US from God.  What is SIN?  Sin is anything that displeases God.  How did SIN start?  With our ancestors, Adam and Eve.  When they chose to disobey God, they gave up their dominion over the earth, sin entered, and the sin disease with a death sentence was passed upon the whole human race. "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" - Romans 5:12

MORE GOOD NEWS: God did not want to leave us without a remedy - so He sent His Son, Jesus Christ into the world to take the place of our penalty for sin.  Isaiah 53 and verse 6 says: "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all."  In the New Testament John 3:16 and 17 puts it this way: "For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life. For God did not send the Son into the world in order to judge (to reject, to condemn, to pass sentence on) the world, but that the world might find salvation and be made safe and sound through Him."  Romans 5:8 says - "But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

We must all turn from sin and receive Jesus Christ to be saved.  "The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand! Repent, and believe in the GOOD NEWS." - Mark 1:15

John 1:12 says: "But as many as received Him, to THEM gave He power to become the sons (and daughters) of God, even to them that believe on His name."  And in John 14:6 - "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life. NO ONE comes to the Father except through me.'" "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." - Acts 4:12 "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin." - 1 John 1:7

With Jesus we can be saved.  Without Jesus we will be lost. "He that believes on the Son has everlasting life: and he that believes not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abides on him." - John 3:36

If you have never repented (turned from sin) and received Jesus Christ and would like to do so now, pray this prayer after me out loud: "Dear God in heaven, thank you for sending Jesus Christ as a remedy for my sin - I repent and receive Jesus Christ, your remedy for my sins right now.  Thank you for saving me Jesus, AMEN!" (so-be-it).
